Abstract

The “Business Survey Spotlight” series regularly presents the results of the Ifo Business Survey and investigates their relevance for individual branches. This article describes the structure of the mechanical engineering sector and developments in it, and analyses the informative value of the survey results for this branch. The findings of the analysis show that the Ifo Business Survey accurately traces economic developments and can therefore be used as a source of information for companies and researchers.
