The informative value of the results of the Ifo Business Survey at the regional level

Author

Listed:
  • Georg Goldrian

Abstract

The results of the survey of enterprises in trade and industry in Baden-Württemberg within the context of the Ifo Business Survey provide not only early information on the current economic situation but they can also be considered as an early indication for future economic activity. The latter is based on the expectations expressed on various business aspects. But also assessments of the current business situation have an early-indicator character since they have a publication lead on the official statistics of up to six weeks.
