Förderung von Wissens- und Technologietransfer: Eine Analyse des Wirkungsgehalts von Wissens-Spillovern auf die regionale Innovationsleistung

Abstract

Sowohl im Forschungsbericht „Forschung und Innovation 2014“ als auch im Gutachten der EXPERTEN - KOMMISSION FORSCHUNG UND INNOVATION (EFI) wird ein gesteigerter Wissens- und Technologietransfer sowohl unter Unternehmen als auch zwischen Unternehmen und Forschungseinrichtungen empfohlen und dessen innovationssteigernde Wirkung thematisiert. Vor diesem Hintergrund liegt das Ziel des vorliegenden Beitrags darin, den Einfluss von externem Wissen (=Wissens-Spillover) auf die Innovationsleistung einer Region empirisch zu untersuchen. Basierend auf Daten zu Ausgaben und Beschäftigtenzahlen im Bereich Forschung und Entwicklung sowie zu Patentanmeldungen für 154 europäische Regionen wird für den Zeitraum von 1999 bis 2009 empirische Evidenz gefunden, dass die Innovationsleistung einer Region durch die eigenen Forschungs- und Entwicklungsaufwendungen sowie jenen der umliegenden Regionen positiv beeinflusst wird.
