Die Brutto- und Tariflohnentwicklung seit 1994 im Vergleich

Abstract

Die öffentliche Meinung „gleicher Lohn für gleiche Arbeit“ findet man häufig, wenn die Verdienstmöglichkeiten in Ost- und Westdeutschland thematisiert werden. Nach der Wiedervereinigung erwirkten die Gewerkschaften eine rasche Tariflohnangleichung. Dies geschah auch zum Schutz der westdeutschen Arbeitnehmer vor einer Niedriglohnkonkurrenz im eigenen Land. Wenig Beachtung fanden dabei die unterschiedlichen Produktivitätsniveaus in Ost- bzw. Westdeutschland. Als Folge resultierte ein Auseinanderklaffen des tariflichen Anspruchs von dem tatsächlich bezahlten Lohn. Eine Gegenüberstellung der Tariflöhne im Vergleich zur allgemeinen Verdienstentwicklung seit 1994 soll diese Tendenzen für Ost- und Westdeutschland verdeutlichen und wirtschaftspolitische Handlungsfelder aufzeigen.
