Abstract

Erwartungen über die Inflation, Immobilienpreise oder das Wirtschaftswachstum sind von zentraler Bedeutung in Modellen des Konsum- und Finanzverhaltens. Sie spielen zudem eine wichtige Rolle in den Transmissionsmechanismen der Geld- und Fiskalpolitik. Die empirische Evidenz zur Erwartungsbildung und zum kausalen Effekt von makroökonomischen Erwartungen im wirtschaftlichen Handeln von Haushalten ist jedoch noch immer begrenzt. Christopher Roth und Johannes Wohlfart legen den aktuellen Stand der empirischen Forschung zu diesen Themen dar, erörtern offene Forschungsfragen sowie die Implikationen der Forschungsergebnisse für die Geld- und Fiskalpolitik.
