Weltwirtschaft im Abwärtsstrudel

Abstract

Die Weltwirtschaft befindet sich im Winter 2008/09 auf einer konjunkturellen Talfahrt von historischer Dimension. Die Rezession hat inzwischen alle Regionen erfasst. Im Vergleich zum Vorjahr dürfte das Welt-BIP im ersten Quartal 2009 zum ersten Mal seit den 1930er Jahren gesunken sein. Zwar bemühen sich die Regierungen und Notenbanken, den Bankensektor zu stabilisieren und die Konjunktur anzuregen. Eine konjunkturelle Wende ist aber vorerst nicht in Sicht. Wir haben unsere Prognose für die Weltproduktion im Jahr 2009 nochmals deutlich reduziert. Wir erwarten nun einen Rückgang um 0,8 Prozent (Dezemberprognose: +0,4 Prozent). Im kommenden Jahr dürfte sich die Weltwirtschaft allmählich beleben. Mit einem Zuwachs von 2,1 Prozent (Dezember: 1,9 Prozent) bleibt der Anstieg des Welt-BIP voraussichtlich aber sehr mäßig.
