La evaluaci�n de la producci�n cient�fica: hacia un factor de impacto neutral

Abstract

En este trabajo se propone la construcci�n de un indicador que permita llevar a cabo evaluaciones de la producci�n cient�fica de manera neutra entre �reas, instituciones y/o autores. Para ello, y en consonancia con lo que se propone en la literatura, se emplearan los factores de impacto. Como punto de partida emplearemos las bases de datos multidisciplinares proporcionadas por el Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) en sus Journal Citation Report (JRC), pero como se comprobar� la f�rmula de c�lculo que emplea ISI para construir sus factores de impacto sesga los resultados a favor de las �reas que citan m�s en promedio y que concentran las citas en los primeros a�os de vida de los art�culos. Para corregir estos sesgos y aumentar as� la homogeneidad en las evaluaciones de la actividad investigadora se propone utilizar un nuevo factor de impacto construido mediante la realizaci�n de ciertas correcciones que ser�n aplicadas directamente sobre el factor de impacto que calcula el ISI.
