Abstract

The paper analyzes the importance of agribusiness systems in the understanding of efficient coordination between agents in the sugarcane sector and the limits of productive structures in the segment, considered the global and national expansion of the sector. In this sense, the segments producer and processor and distributor function as productive structures, important links in the coordination of agents to achieve efficiency and competitiveness. In addition, regarding the market situation considerations were made on the supply side of sugarcane, ethanol and sugar at national and international level. The motivation for this study was due to the growing importance of the sector and the growth of this sector in the state of Goias. For this, the study showed qualitative approach to literature and secondary data collection in public bodies and class representation . As a result, it was found that the relationships between the producer segments, processor and distributor are important in the production chain, in that the coordination between the agents brings efficiency and safeguards principally with contractual instruments, vis-à-vis the expansion of production of sugarcane, ethanol and sugar at the global, national and regional markets.
