Clubes de Convergência nos Preços das Terras Agrícolas do Paraná

Abstract

O objetivo deste artigo é identificar a presença de clubes de convergência na dinâmica dos preços das terras agrícolas dos municípios paranaenses. A abordagem empírica consiste em estimar equações de convergência usando o método de Regressão Ponderada Geograficamente, cuja vantagem é prover estimativas locais dos coeficientes de convergência. A base de dados é composta por preços segmentados para três tipos de solo e quatro classes de mecanização, abrangendo o período entre 2006 e 2016. Os resultados encontrados evidenciam que existe forte heterogeneidade espacial na dinâmica dos preços para todas as categorias de terra, aspecto condizente com a presença de clubes de convergência. Essas evidencias implicam que a lei do preço único não se aplica ao mercado de terras do Paraná e que este mercado é caracterizado por mecanismos de arbitragem na formação de preços.
