Abstract

At present, in a dynamic and continuously changing, complex and competitive entrepreneurial environment, human resources management is a fairly important aspect. It is considered an essential and preferred quality in each manager. Leadership is a relatively independent function of management; it represents such influence on the individual that his/her behavior is in accordance with the definition of his/her job position and at the same time it contributes to development, satisfying customer needs and interests of employees. The aim of this contribution is to present efficient management of people as a prospective, successful and effective precondition for increasing value and competitiveness of a company. The issue of managing human resources appears to be very up-to-date when looking at the ongoing world crisis and related efficient managing of people in companies, which can become a competitive advantage and a tool for ensuring effective operation of companies under conditions of globalization.
