Public Finance in the Philippines: A Review of the Literature

Author

Listed:
  • Manasan, Rosario G.

Abstract

While taxation is by far the most well researched area on public finance, there has been a dearth of studies conducted in the government expenditure, budget process and public debt arena. Moreover, the volume of studies conducted are heavily concentrated on the 1960s and on the 1970s, interest in the field has started to weaken. Based on the review of existing literature on public finance, this study has proposed several research projects.
