Crédito Bancario, Tasa De Interés De Política Y Tasa De Encaje En El Perú

Abstract

Mirar a la economía desde el interés por libertad de los individuos en general Este trabajo evalúa la relevancia del canal del crédito en el mecanismo de transmisión de la política monetaria en el Perú durante el periodo enero 2003-diciembre 2011 utilizando datos mensuales de bancos individuales. Se estudian dos instrumentos de política monetaria usados bajo el régimen de metas de inflación: la tasa de interés de referencia o tasa de política monetaria y la tasa de encaje que recae sobre los depósitos en moneda nacional. En un modelo Bernanke-Blinder donde el banco central fija la tasa de interés de corto plazo en vez de la cantidad de dinero, un alza de ambos instrumentos de política reduce la actividad económica y los préstamos bancarios. Usando métodos econométricos apropiados para datos de panel, se encuentra que alzas de la tasa de interés de referencia y de la tasa de encaje tienen un impacto negativo sobre el crecimiento de los préstamos bancarios.
