Analisis Faktor-Faktor Yang Mempengaruhi Mahasiswa Memilih Kuliah Di Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Manajemen Sukma Medan

Abstract

Perguruan Tinggi merupakan tingkat pendidikan yang mendekati dunia kerja. Persaingan pada dunia pendidikan yang semakin kompetitif mengharus setiap lembaga pendidikan harus mampu bersaing dengan menciptakan inovasi-inovasi baru yang dapat manarik minat calon mahasiswa/i. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keputusan mahasiswa dalam memilih kampus STIM Sukma sebagai tempat kuliah. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada kampus STIM Sukma Medan dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 116 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksporasi. Jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan metode yang digunakan ialah metode kuantitatif. Data yang diperoleh diuji dengan menggunakan analisis faktor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Dari 9 indikator yang di analisis dan setelah melewati analisis KMO MSA, ternyata hasil analisis ekstraksi komputer menjadi 2 faktor (nilai eigen value > 1 menjadi 2 faktor). Dimana faktor 1 mampu menjelaskan 40.462% variasi yaitu indikator kebudayaan, indikator pembelajaran, indikator kepribadian dan konsep diri serta indikator kepercayaan dan sikap. sedangkan faktor 2 mampu menjelaskan 14.471% variasi meliputi indikator kelas sosial, indikator keluarga, indikator motivasi dan indikator persepsi. Namun indikator 3 yang merupakan situasi ekonomi dikeluarkan dari instrumen penelitian karena tidak melewati batas signifikansi 0.50. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut dapat dijadikan sebagai acuan untuk lebih mengembangkan program-program pendidikan pada STIM Sukma Medan sehingga dapat mencapai jumlah target yang telah ditentukan.
