Abstract

En este informe se actualizan los valores del salario vital y los gastos de subsistencia para las regiones colombianas productoras de banano. El salario vital neto (es decir, la remuneración neta requerida) y los gastos de subsistencia se actualizan al mes del estudio del año calendario más reciente —mayo de 2021—, para tomar en cuenta la cifra de inflación desde el estudio original sobre el salario vital, realizado en mayo de 2018. Sin tomar en cuenta la inflación, el salario vital neto estimado en 2018 no sería suficiente para que los trabajadores alcanzaran un nivel de vida básico pero decente en 2021, pues el poder adquisitivo del salario vital hubiera disminuido en comparación con el valor de 2018. Del mismo modo, los gastos de subsistencia para una familia de referencia se actualizaron asimismo a mayo de 2021 para tomar en cuenta la inflación. En esta actualización, también incluimos proyecciones del salario vital promedio para el resto de 2021 y para 2022, pues estas pueden ser más útiles para algunos fines que una estimación para un mes específico.
