Actualización sobre el salario vital: Ecuador rural, región costa meridional (Agosto 2020)

Abstract

En este informe se actualizan los valores del salario vital y los gastos de sustento para la región productora de plátano/banano y la región Costa meridional del Ecuador. En este informe, los valores del salario vital neto y de los gastos de sustento se actualizaron al mes más reciente con datos de inflación del Gobierno (agosto de 2020), a fin de tomar en cuenta el total de la inflación desde el estudio original, de noviembre de 2016. Sin tomar en cuenta la inflación, el salario vital neto estimado en 2016 podría no ser suficiente para que los trabajadores alcancen un nivel de vida básico pero decente en 2020, pues el poder adquisitivo del salario vital podría haber disminuido. Del mismo modo, los gastos de sustento para una familia del tamaño de referencia se actualizaron asimismo a agosto de 2020 para tomar en cuenta la inflación.
