Abstract

"The legal entitlement to a place in early childhood education and care service for children under 3 years resulted in an increasing number of employees working in early childhood education and care centres. How the increased demand for skilled childcare employees has been covered, and how many childcare professionals can potentially be recaptured for skilled work in early childhood education and care services? Which strategies helps to recruit childcare professionals? In cooperation with the German Youth Institute (Deutsches Jugendinstitut) the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) considered these questions.
