最低賃金と生産性

Abstract

最低賃金は、低賃金労働者の所得保障、経済格差の縮小などを主な目的として存在する制度だが、最近、日本経済全体の生産性との関連が盛んに議論されている。本稿は、関連する内外の研究をサーベイした上で、都道府県レベル及び企業レベルのパネルデータを使用し、日本における最低賃金と生産性の関連についてのエビデンスを提示する。分析結果によれば、最低賃金の引き上げが生産性を高めるという関係は、少なくともこれまでのところ確認されない。
