Le renforcement des organisations de producteurs de coton au Mali : enjeux, impact et leçons du commerce équitable pour la privatisation de la filière

Abstract

Cet article évalue l'impact du commerce équitable de coton sur le renforcement des organisations de producteurs (OP) au Mali. Il est basé sur une enquête de terrain réalisée en 2008 auprès des 102 OP certifiées et d'une centaine d'OP témoins. Les résultats montrent que les OP équitables font preuve d'une meilleure gestion, d'une plus grande transparence et d'une gouvernance plus démocratique. L'article tire les enseignements du projet de coton équitable au Mali pour les programmes d'appui aux OP en vue de la privatisation de la filière.
