Abstract

Procrastination trait and procrastinability are developed to explain a no-choice option. While procrastination captures the tendency to postpone acting upon an intent, procrastinabiliy is conceptualized to reflect situational context effects of the purchase decision task. A 2 X 2 experiment is designed to show interaction between these two individual and situational variables. A short bi-dimension scale is developed and validated. Results show that procrastinators tend to delay their purchases more than non-procrastinators and there is a significant increased effect within a non-procrastinable setting.
