Choisir son mode de ville : formes urbaines et transports dans les villes émergentes

Abstract

Certains pays en développement construisent actuellement leurs villes. La consommation d'énergie dans les transports urbains pour les décennies à venir va dépendre de la manière dont ces villes sont bâties. Tandis que certains pays en développement atteignent un niveau de richesse permettant le début de la motorisation de masse, nous souhaitons ici rappeler les relations entre la ville et la mobilité, et présenter l'évolution des villes des pays industrialisés. Les villes en développement ne se situent pas au même point de départ que les villes des pays industrialisés avant la motorisation de masse. Elles ont notamment des ressources spatiales et énergétiques réduites. Toutefois, ces contraintes au développement mimétique correspondent à des opportunités pour un développement durable.
