Pesticides efficiency of French wheat producers under a stochastic frontier framework

Abstract

L'efficacité des pesticides est évaluée avec une spécification de la fonction de production qui permet de tenir compte des dommages infligés par les ravageurs. Ce cadre est ensuite étendu à l'estimation de frontière de production stochastique. Les résultats révèlent un niveau d'efficacité inférieur d'environ 67%, ce qui signifie que les niveaux de pesticides peuvent être réduits d'environ 33% tout en maintenant les revenus des agriculteurs inchangés.
