Abstract

Un modèle de réponse ordonnée pour le niveau de l'emploi que les individus souhaitent occuper est complété par une tolérance relative à une différence entre les niveaux réel et souhaité d'un travail. On étudie également des biais possibles en restreignant les observations aux actifs, sans considérer les chômeurs. Il apparaît que ce biais peut être ignoré et on en conclut que les chômeurs ne sont pas plus exigeants que les individus pourvus d'un emploi. Les personnes qui demandent une utilisation insuffisante de leurs capacités n'ont pas une affectation très différente de celle qu'obtiennent les personnes réclamant un niveau approprié. Le niveau plus faible des emplois féminins ne peut s'expliquer à partir d'une utilisation rationnée des capacités.
