Abstract

Cet article examine le problème de l'évaluation des coûts de réduction des émissions de gaz à effet de serre d'origine agricole. L'analyse est fondée sur le calcul des prix duaux associés à une réduction des émissions nettes. Dans ce calcul, sont intégrés les émissions de protoxyde d'azote et de méthane et le stockage de carbone dans les sols agricoles et les arbres. Ces estimations sont fondées sur un ensemble de modèles de programmation linéaire représentant le comportement économique d'exploitations-types à l'échelle française. La distribution des coûts marginaux d'abattement (obtenus grâce aux relations de dualité) est présentée et discutée. L'analyse suggère que l'autorisation de boisement sur jachère peut constituer un moyen d'atteindre des réductions importantes à un coût intéressant. Néanmoins, il est montré que cet instrument est susceptible d'accroître l'inégalité en termes de pertes de revenus pour les agriculteurs.
