La| place de l'innovation dans les stratégies concurrentielles des PME internationales

Abstract

L'objectif de cette recherche est de replacer la relation entre innovation et internationalisation en P.M.E. dans le cadre plus global de la stratégie concurrentielle. Fondée sur la théorie du "strategic fit", une étude empirique menée sur un échantillon de 58 P.M.E. montre que les P.M.E. internationales diffèrent de façon significative des P.M.E. régionales sur de nombreuses « dimensions concurrentielles ». Les P.M.E. internationales sont exposées à des exigences plus importantes en termes de différenciation des produits et de minimisation des coûts de production et suivent une stratégie de concentration plus prononcée. La R&D et la technologie produit s'inscrivent dans la stratégie de différenciation produit, alors que l'innovation en termes de procédés de production s'inscrit dans la stratégie de minimisation des coûts.
