Abstract

Le phénomène du logiciel Open Source est déjà bien décrit dans la littérature, mais son évolution vers d'autres domaines tels que le développement de produits matériels tangibles reste essentiellement théorique. La littérature existante a identifié que, pour favoriser la mise en œuvre du développement de produits open source (OSPD), un soutien supplémentaire aux processus est nécessaire pour soutenir les défis organisationnels de ces projets dans la réalisation de produits complexes de haute qualité. Les fonctionnalités de ce support de processus n'ont pas encore été caractérisées. L'objectif de cet article est de combler cette lacune en explorant les pratiques émergeant des communautés OSPD pour observer les usages actuels afin de collaborer progressivement dans le futur. À cette fin, le cadre de Fjeldsted a été activé lors d'une étude empirique qualitative et comparative réalisée avec 28 participants de projets OSPD à travers des entretiens semi-dirigés. Les résultats préliminaires indiquent 3 besoins principaux de ces communautés dans l'utilisation potentielle de la plate-forme qui devrait servir à caractériser les projets OSPD. Ils révèlent également l'importance de l'attitude des fondateurs originaux, à savoir la capacité d'ouverture et d'apprentissage mutuel, la motivation pour le «hédonisme», l'entrepreneuriat social.
