Abstract

This communication gives a typology of sustainable information system practices based on the place assigned to sustainable development in firms'strategy. At first glance, it would be expected that these referred to two opposite approaches : the absence of consideration and the opportunism. Nevertheless, the analysis of literature discloses the existence of four different conceptions and three theoretical itineraries in this field. The article so suggests a new overview of general attitudes as regards IS liable to emerge in each vision of DD. From this point of view, the article sets the theoretical foundations down of a typology which could probably in future permits researcher to better empirically quantify these practices.
