Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la situacion del gasto publico total en educacion para nueve paises de la OCDE entre los que se encuentra España, en el periodo 1985-1992. Para ello comparamos el gasto en estos paises desde diferentes perspectivas, en funcion del PIB, gasto por alumno, porcentaje del gasto en los diferentes niveles educativos sobre el total, etc. Una vez realizado este analisis comparativo y observando importantes diferencias entre los paises estudiados, tratamos de ver las consecuencias para el crecimiento economico, mediante el desarrollo de un modelo econometrico en el que se examina cual es la contribucion de la educacion a dicho crecimiento. Este analisis se efectua a traves de un panel de datos, introduciendo diferentes variables proxy para cuantificar el capital humano.
