Incidencia del nivel educativo sobre los procesos de búsqueda y la duración del desempleo en Colombia. Un Análisis desde la Óptica de la senalización

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza el efecto que tiene el nivel educativo del individuo, desde el punto de vista de la teoría de la senalización, sobre el proceso de búsqueda de empleo y la duración del desempleo. Utilizando los datos del II trimestre del ano 2 010 de la Gran Encuesta Integrada de Hogares (GEIH) y las metodologías estándar para el análisis de eficacia y eficiencia, se encuentra que el nivel educativo de los individuos actúa como una senal que aumenta la efectividad de los canales de búsqueda, sin embargo tiene efectos diferenciados en los períodos de duración para ocupados desocupados al igual que por tipo de canal utilizado.
