Demanda laboral industrial en el área metropolitana de Cali: un análisis entre 1995 y 2001

Abstract

En el presente documento se estudia el comportamiento de la demanda laboral para el Área Metropolitana de Cali en el período 1995-2001. se utiliza la información de la Encuesta Anual Manufacturera del Dane para 17 sectores (3 dígitos CHU), y se trabaja con un Modelo de Efectos Fijos en Datos de Panel para determinar la estructura de la demanda laboral en términos de la elasticidad empleo-salario y empleo producto. La estimación del modelo muestra que la estructura de la demanda laboral está muy acorde con la teoría con una elasticidad empleo-salario negativa y una elasticidad empleo- producto positiva.
