Desigualdades Salariales en Colombia: Un análisis para trabajadores rurales y jóvenes, 2002-2009

Abstract

Este documento evalúa el comportamiento y la magnitud de las desigualdades salariales de los trabajadores rurales respecto a los urbanos y de los jóvenes respecto a los mayores de 25 anos en Colombia, para el período 2002-2009. La aplicación de pruebas de raíz unitaria y la metodología matching de descomposición de brechas salariales permiten concluir que si bien existen importantes diferencias en los niveles de salario de los grupos de interés, no ha habido divergencia entre ellos cuando se comparan individuos con iguales características. Losdiferenciales salariales encontrados con matching son de -50 por ciento para trabajadores rurales y -40 por ciento para jóvenes, de los cuales alrededor de 14 y 19 puntos porcentuales, respectivamente, permanecen no explicados después de controlar por variables demográficas y de trabajo.
