Abstract

Se busca explorar, por un lado la formación de aspiraciones y su influencia en el esfuerzo que realizará las personas para alcanzar las metas marcadas por dichas aspiraciones, y por el otro las percepciones como determinante al momento de emprender acciones. La aportación de este trabajo, consiste en considerar que las aspiraciones se forman no sólo por el entorno en el que se habita sino que también estarán influenciadas por lo que se percibe de dicho entorno. Una percepción errónea llevará a una formación de aspiraciones también distorsionada, lo que a su vez repercutirá en las decisiones de los hogares. El análisis muestra que tener percepciones erróneas en términos estáticos y dinámicos provoca distorsiones en las aspiraciones educativas y en la inversión en educación. En este sentido, aunque los hogares sean semejantes en todos los aspectos socioeconómicos, sus decisiones sobre inversión en educación pueden ser distintas debido a la existencia de diferencias de percepción.
