La planificación importa: Infraestructura y planes municipales en Perú

Abstract

El documento demuestra que la planificación municipal importa para el desarrollo de la infraestructura de servicios públicos de alcance local en el Perú. La variedad de modelos aplicados revela la importancia de los diversos planes municipales sobre una serie de indicadores de las infraestructuras de saneamiento, electricidad, telecomunicaciones y transporte. Los resultados más contundentes se encuentran en la cobertura de agua potable, tanto a nivel distrital como provincial, tanto en los centros de las localidades como en sus alrededores. Asimismo, los planes municipales resultan relevantes para mejorar el bienestar de la población, aproximado este último mediante el nivel de pobreza y el índice de desarrollo humano.
