PRELIMINARY EXPERIMENTS ON ANDROGENESIS OF EGGPLANT (Solanum melongena L.) IN GUADELOUPE

Abstract

The results of two experiments of androgenesis are reported. A large variability of Solanum melongena material is tested. After one month of culture a high percentage of anthers produce callus. A very limited production of embryos and regenerated plants is observed. There is a large difference between genotypes for both characters.
