Abstract

With the acceleration of industrialization and urbanization, the energy consumption is rapidly increasing, therefore improving provincial energy efficiency is of great realistic importance and urgency under the background of implementing scientific concept of development and constructing a harmonious society. This paper aims to identify the provincial energy distribution, and to develop further recommendations and research directions. By using the input-oriented super-efficiency DEA model with constant returns to scale, this paper measures the regional energy efficiency of building industry in mainland China (except Tibet) from 2005 to 2009, and then does the space clustering analysis of regional architecture industry energy efficiency by GeoDA095i. The results indicate that energy efficiencies of building industry in provinces differ substantially, which of most provinces almost stay constant in the 5 years while those of only a few violate.
