Review of Best Practice

Abstract

Having presented a cross-section of our collective experience of executive coaching with appropriate models, assembled below are what we believe are the primary elements of best practice in executive coaching. If you have conscientiously worked through the chapter questions and checked your profile against our ‘capable coach’ model (see Appendix), you will have the basis of your own coaching development action plan which can be completed by following the suggestions in the latter part of this chapter. To remind you of our common model for managing the process of an executive coaching assignment, here is the ‘A4’ model, referred to in Chapter 2, but shown in diagrammatic form in Figure 4.1.
