Strukturanalyse des Arbeitsmarktes im Beherbergungs- und Gaststättenwesen

Abstract

Die Verfügbarkeit einer ausreichenden Zahl geeigneter Arbeitskräfte ist ein zentraler Standortfaktor für das arbeitsintensive Beherbergungs- und Gaststättenwesen. Trotz hoher Arbeitslosigkeit und Regelungen für ausländische Saisonbeschäftigte können jedoch häufig Stellen nicht besetzt werden. Da der Sektor großteils junge Arbeitskräfte benötigt, ergibt sich durch die künftige demographisch bedingte Verknappung junger Arbeitskräfte eine zusätzliche Erschwernis. Die Studie liefert Erklärungshypothesen für die relativ hohe Arbeitslosigkeit und die Probleme bei der Besetzung von offenen Stellen im Beherbergungs- und Gaststättenwesen. Die empirische Überprüfung der Forschungshypothesen basiert weitgehend auf den Individualdaten des Hauptverbandes der österreichischen Sozialversicherungsträger und des Arbeitsmarktservice. Überlegungen zum künftigen Bedarf an Arbeitskräften und wirtschaftspolitische Empfehlungen beschließen die Untersuchung.
