Productividad en el Perú: medición, determinantes e implicancias

Abstract

¿Cuál debe ser la estrategia de crecimiento de la economía peruana durante las próximas décadas para ser considerada una economía desarrollada y con alto nivel de bienestar? La experiencia de los últimos 25 años, la mejor del último siglo en términos de crecimiento de la economía, nos deja un mensaje claro: el crecimiento basada en mayor inversión (externa) y mayor número de trabajadores no es suficiente para sostener un alto crecimiento y alcanzar un alto nivel de desarrollo. De forma complementaria, se requiere que esos factores sean más productivos y eficientes, con lo cual la estrategia de desarrollo debe poner especial atención a la productividad. En este libro se estudia la productividad en el Perú desde distintas perspectivas y se pone en debate los principales elementos que deben ser considerados para una estrategia de crecimiento económico de largo plazo basada en la productividad.
