Inflationsmessung in Zeiten der Corona-Pandemie

Abstract

Die Corona-Pandemie stellte die Verbraucherpreisstatik vor große Herausforderungen, da die monatliche Erhebung nur sehr eingeschränkt möglich war. Damit die Aussagekraft der Inflationsrate verlässlich bleibt, hat das Statistische Bundesamt zusammen mit dem Statistischen Amt der Europäischen Union, Eurostat, und den nationalen statistischen Ämtern europäische Richtlinien erarbeitet und mit den Statistischen Ämtern der Länder umgesetzt. Neben der erweiterten Nutzung von digitalen Datenquellen war hierfür auch eine erhöhte Anzahl von Imputationen nötig. Die ersten Lockerungen der COVID-19-Maßnahmen und auch die im Zusammenhang mit der Corona-Pandemie umgesetzte Mehrwertsteuersenkung führten zu weiteren methodischen Fragen.
