Schadenversicherungen deckten 2021 hohe Schäden aus Naturkatastrophen

Abstract

Die österreichische Privatversicherungswirtschaft konnte 2021 das Prämienvolumen um 3,1% steigern. Besonders günstig entwickelten sich die Prämieneinnahmen in der Schaden- und Unfallversicherung (+4,3%) und in der privaten Krankenzusatzversicherung (+3,8%). Hohe Schadenzahlungen nach einem Tornado an der österreichisch-tschechischen Grenze führten trotz rückläufiger Auszahlungen der Lebensversicherung (–9,2%) zu einer Ausweitung der Leistungen um insgesamt 3,4%. In der Schaden- und Unfallversicherung floss ein Sechstel der Leistungen in die Kompensation von Schäden aus Naturkatastrophen. Entgegen dem internationalen Trend verschob sich das heimische Versicherungsgeschäft 2021 weiter von der Lebens- zur Krankenversicherung sowie zur Schaden- und Unfallversicherung. Angesichts des Niedrigzinsumfelds erzielte Österreichs Versicherungswirtschaft ein gutes Veranlagungsergebnis.
