Auswirkungen der COVID-19-Krise auf die Forschungs- und Entwicklungsausgaben des Unternehmenssektors in Österreich

Abstract

Die Wirtschaftskrise infolge der COVID-19-Pandemie kann eine Verlangsamung des Wachstums der Forschungs- und Entwicklungsausgaben des Unternehmenssektors in Österreich um 5 Prozentpunkte gegenüber 2019 nach sich ziehen. Dieser Rückgang kann sich sowohl auf die weitere Entwicklung der Forschungsausgaben selbst als auch auf die langfristige Produktivitätssteigerung auswirken und damit die wirtschaftlichen Kosten der Krise über das Jahr 2020 hinaus erhöhen. Aufgrund der hohen Unsicherheit könnten zusätzliche antizyklische Forschungs- und Entwicklungsförderungen nötig sein, um diese langfristigen Effekte zu minimieren.
