Abstract

Die USA und China ratifizieren das UNO-Klimaschutzabkommen von Paris. Nach dem Votum für einen EU-Austritt in Großbritannien ("Brexit") sind die anderen 27 EU-Länder vom weiteren Erfolg der Union überzeugt und weisen in der "Bratislava Declaration" auf die Notwendigkeit der Union für Frieden, Demokratie und Sicherheit hin. Das Ausmaß der notleidenden Kredite, die europäische Banken (insbesondere in Italien) halten, wird als hoch eingeschätzt. Der Bankenstresstest weist für die zwei österreichischen Institute, Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich AG und Erste Group Bank AG, unter den 51 geprüften Banken unterdurchschnittliche Ergebnisse aus. Das Freihandelsabkommen zwischen der EU und Kanada (CETA), über das im österreichischen Parlament abgestimmt werden muss, wird von den Regierungspartnern sehr unterschiedlich eingeschätzt.
