Abstract

As a result of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, energy prices have risen sharply. In order to fully assess the consequences of this energy crisis for households in Germany, the German Advisory Council for Consumer Affairs (SVRV) is conducting a representative household panel survey from April 2023 to July 2024 with a total of six survey waves. So far, two waves have been carried out with more than 4,444 participating households in April/May and June/July 2023, respectively. In the present article, we present the methodology of the survey, the main results and recommendations for action.
