Abstract

The craft brewing sector has gained great popularity in recent years, since both national and international consumption is increasing. In Mexico it is a still small sector, in comparison with the American industrial brewing sector, however, it can represent a good alternative for investors. The objective of this research was to determine if the craft brewing industry creates or destroys value. The multiple case method is used, applying the economic value added model to two artisanal brewing companies, one Mexican called “Cervecera artesanal mexicano” and the other American called Samuel Adams. The results allow us to determine that the Mexican craft brewing industry is creating value.
