Abstract

Zusammenfassung Repräsentative Erwerbstätigenbefragungen zeigen, dass die Mehrheit der Beschäftigten mindestens einmal während der letzten zwölf Monate zur Arbeit gegangen ist, obwohl sie sich aufgrund ihres Gesundheitszustands besser hätten krankmelden sollen. Es bleiben aber auch viele Arbeitnehmer jedes Jahr ein- oder mehrmals aus krankheitsbedingten oder anderen Gründen der Arbeit fern. Das Ausmaß und die Gründe dieses Präsentismus- und AbsentismusVerhaltens sind vielschichtig und variieren zwischen Arbeitnehmergruppen, Betrieben und Sektoren. Es zeigt sich, dass Präsentismus und Fehlzeiten relativ schwach zusammenhängen und dass es jeweils gezielter Maßnahmen bedarf, um diese Phänomene zu beeinflussen.
