Seguimiento de la desigualdad economica en Mexico

Abstract

El articulo utiliza la Encuesta Nacionalde Ocupacion y Empleo (ENOE), que levanta el Instituto Nacional de Estadistica, Geografia (INEGI), para crear series de tiempo de la desigualdad del ingreso laboral en Mexico de 2005 a 2019. Los resultados de la desigualdad, medida por el Coeficiente de Gini, se calculan a nivel nacional para cada una de las entidades federativas y para 32 ciudades. La informacion del ingreso en la enoe contiene valores faltantes y estas omisiones tienden a crecer con el tiempo. Los valores faltantes pueden generar sesgos cuando no se presentan de forma aleatoria, por lo que es recomendable realizar correcciones. Para imputar valores del ingreso faltantes se utiliza un metodo hot-deck (no parametrico). Se calcula la desigualdad sin imputaciones y con imputaciones, los resultados se presentan en una herramienta publica de seguimiento de la desigualdad que puede consultarse en el portal del Laboratorio de Innovacion y Desarrollo (http://labid.org). Las cifras muestran una tendencia a la baja de la desigualdad del ingreso en Mexico desde el 2005. La herramienta es interactiva y de libre acceso. Investigadores, periodistas, disenadores de politica publica, entre otros, pueden acceder al portal y revisar las series de desigualdad economica.
