L'importance de la pénétration des technologies de l'information et de la communication en Suisse
AbstractThe Household Budget Survey of 1998, especially the section on durable goods, enables us to measure the degree to which the Information Society has entered the household. After a descriptive analysis of how households equip themselves with goods and services related to information technologies in the wide sense of the term, an econometrical model makes it possible to quantify the impact of the different factors taken into consideration. These factors, such as linguistic regions, level of urbanization, education, age or presence of children, for instance, indicate the different ways of life and cultures, the generations effects or the specific needs which may explain the disparities which have been observed.
