The subject of research is a theoretical and practical framework defining the main areas of development bank activities in the current environment. It is concluded that to ensure the economic interests of the BRICS countries it is appropriate to promote cooperation between development banks taking into account the world experience in financing and crediting development programs. Interaction of development institutions, efficient use of financial tools, harmonization of monetary, credit and financial relations make possible to strengthen the role and position of development banks in the world economy.
