Abstract

Prin datele si functiile specifice sistemul informatic geografic, este un instrument indispensabil in managementul urban din perspectiva unui sistem decizional suport. Prelucrarea si sintetizarea informatiilor din baza de date spatiala ofera indici si indicatori urbani necesari intelegerii situatiei existente care, cumulati cu aplicatii de analiza si simulare, ofera suport planificarii urbane pe termen scurt, mediu si lung, si permit in acelasi timp vizualizari spatiale utile pentru intelegerea de catre nespecialisti in urbanism a unor elemente spatiale necesare luarii deciziilor.
