Abstract

The article discusses theoretical approaches to the analysis of trade clusters. One of the features of such clusters is their distributional type, which leads to a more complex structure of economic interactions. The purpose of this work is to systematize the theories of regional economics in order to create the basis of trade clusters study. Arguments are given in favor of the necessity to consider regional trade clusters based on the theory of consumption and spatial placement, which allows identifying a set of relationships inherent in trade structures and identify appropriate metrics for their analysis. The theory of consumption takes into account consumer preferences in formation of demand, as well as subsequent supply, which is associated with the search for optimal locations to place trading enterprises.
