Abstract

Abstract:Natural resource scarcity is causing environmental depletion. This problem is exacerbated by the lack of regulation to protect the environment, which allows some multinational companies to reduce their manufacturing costs without taking responsibility for the impact of their activity on the environment. This is the case of transnational mining corporations in Latin America, which utilize large amounts of water without being obliged to monitor their production processes. Hence, this article aims to analyze the impact of this form of production in order to prove the need to implement policies that promote sustainable development within the region.
